Create a Snowy Vintage Art Journal Scene + GIVEAWAY
Hello crafty friends :)
So 2022 is coming to an end and I would like today to share with you my last page of my Holidays Art Journal that I started this season. Also do not forget to check how to join the GIVEAWAY below.
For this fun page, I used the truck and trees from Christmas Truck Set by Art Impressions.
To create the background I used multiple blue shades from Distress Inks; Speckled Egg, Mermaid Lagoon and Peacock Feather.
I pressed the ink pads randomly on my Glass Mat, sprayed it with water and then smooshed my art journal page on them multiple times until I am happy with the final background look.
With my Vintage Distress Ink and the ink blending tool I inked all the edges of the page to give it the vintage look I am going for.
I then stamped the truck and Christmas tree using my Mini Misti and Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on Bristol smooth heavy weight white paper.
I then colored the images with Copic Markers. I used a special Copic Combo here to achieve the vintage look on the truck too.
I started with E19 at the areas that I want to be shaded and darker at the bottom and flicking vertical strokes upwards. Then with E07 I started my strokes from the E19 areas and up again until I fill a whole section. After both colors are well blended, I used R27 to color the whole section again to give a red tint wash to the brown giving the final look of vintage red to the truck.
All Copic shades used:
Truck: E19 E07 then R27 Wash
Truck Wood: E29 E27
Truck Snow: BG10
Truck Wheels: W03 W02 C02
Tree: YG97 YG95
I then used my Die Cutting Side Kick and cut many trees using the tree die included in the Christmas Truck Set. I will leave these trees white to use them at the background to complete my scene.
Using just my hands, I cut two snow banks at different heights to place my truck between them.
To assemble the art journal page, I directly glued the taller snow bank on the background using my Nuvo Glue and then attached the shorter snow bank on top with thick foam tape at the back to give it dimension.
I backed my truck with foam tape too and tucked it between both the snow hill borders with the colored green tree behind the truck.
To complete the scene I attached the rest white trees on the right and left on the sides of the truck using different foam tape thicknesses to give them alive dimension. I also placed some gems, pearls and enamel dots.
